Unlocked iPhones now locked with 2.2 update

According to iPhone Atlas, foreign users who bought unlocked iPhones legally in countries like Hong Kong are finding out that when they return to their native land, updating to the latest OS 2.2 will lock their iPhones, rendering them unusable unless they're unlocked again through illegal means. That just threw all the advantages to buying an unlocked iPhone from Hong Kong out the window if you don't live here.
