New home 2
Buying a home in Hong Kong is fast--it only took 5 weeks from start to finish. I went to pick up the keys for my new condo this evening. There, I took a picture of the view outside. You're looking at Mong Kok. It's a beautiful concrete jungle, isn't it? Too bad I won't be living in it. The reason behind it is simple; it's all about economics. Where I'm living, I've already invested much in custom-built furnishings, and it's only been two years old, so everything is still fairly new. If I move into this new apartment, I will have to spend another bunch to remodel the place to my liking. It seems a waste of money, as it's already in livable condition. So I've decided to put this place up for rent, instead. I guess I won't be seeing this view again for at least two years--at which time I can decide whether to move in.
