Fingernails and typing
Something I've noticed for a while now is an unscientific correlation between fingernails and typing. It seems I'm most productive whenever I just cut my fingernails: eager to type on the keyboard, pounding on each key as I string letters into words then words into sentences. It feels personal when the tip of my fingers touches the top of the keys, and it reflects on the resulting words.
Then as my nails grow longer, a layer between my fingertips and keys grow with them. I type slower, softer, on the keyboard, often pressing the wrong key. It feels less personal each passing day, and I'm less eager to get back on it. That is until I cut my nails again, then excitement rejuvenates, and the process starts over.
The problem is I'm lazy at cutting my nails, as Johnnie can happily attest to. It's the last task that comes to mind if at all, until I'm at my keyboard but unable to type. That's when I know it's time to grab the nail clipper.
Here I just finished two entries in one day. Is it only because I cut my nails last night?
