Flying to Macworld Expo
Tomorrow I'll be flying from Hong Kong to the Macworld Expo in the states. I'll first go home to Honolulu for 2 days, then it's off to San Francisco for a week. I'm ecstatic, because despite being a Mac user longer than most, this is my first time attending a live Macworld Expo. I don't know why I've waited this long, but there's not a better time to see Apple in all its glory. I'm eager to see Steve Jobs in person, and what he has up his sleeve, if only I can queue early enough to get into the keynote.
What will be another first is that I've decided to leave my PowerBook at home; I won't be taking it to the Expo or on the entire trip. Ironic, isn't it? Especially considering this trip is all about the Mac. But I want to travel light this time, and a 17-inch PowerBook won't allow me that luxury. So, instead, I'll carry my LifeDrive with me at all times. It's got all the essentials of a laptop, but will take only a pocket in my Prada bag. Even with the Bluetooth keyboard inside the other pocket, they still add up to less than a pound, and won't require me to carry around an extra bag.
Maybe it's because I've never attended a Macworld Expo that I dare make such a bold move; I'll know soon enough. For now, I'm more worried about whether the LifeDrive will hold itself together long enough to last a month. My experience so far with it has been unstable, so I can only pray.
But if things work out smoothly, I should have no trouble blogging everything leading to the expo and then some all from my LifeDrive. So do check back regularly.
