Starbucks bomb
In case you're wondering where I'm staying at, it's located diagonally across to the Starbucks where a bomb was found in its restroom, just a day before I arrived. Today, I went into another Starbucks right next to my hotel to grab 2 iced-mochas and saw a security guard on floor. Now this is serious stuff.
Speaking of bombs, less than 3 weeks ago on the day of Christmas Eve, a bomb exploded at a small money exchange shop located directly across from our shop in Mong Kok, Kowloon. Luckily, we weren't opened yet at the time, but the surrounding area was blocked for most of the day for investigation and clean up.
That's my brush with bombs story.
Update: January 13th: Correction: The Starbucks next to my hotel, where I'm sitting and drinking another iced-mocha, is shared with Wells Fargo, so I figure the guards I see here are really for the bank, not Starbucks. Or maybe they're doing double-duty after that bomb scared.
