A Writer's Paris
I saw this book titled A Writer's Paris at Borders yesterday. I thought the title is a metaphor of some sort, either an inspirational message for writers to reach an epitome place in their writing, or the author himself writing his interpretation of Paris.
But neither. Eric Maisel actually encourages you to go to Paris to write. The book of 214 pages is all about convincing you to write in Paris. That's amazing! It's like he knows all writers want to write in Paris, but just waiting for him to show us the way.
The book looks like a travel journal, a Moleskine. The writing personable; the type and layout readable; the drawings and photographs beautiful. It's exactly how I would want my book.
I don't know whether others can or will take 2 weeks to six months to go to Paris to write, as suggested by Maisel, but I'm certainly willing and able to take a month to do just that; I've dreamed about it long enough. So here I bought the book, hoping it'll motivate me enough to take this journey in 2006.
