Another passes on...

My all time favorite Hong Kong singer, Anita Mui, passed away from cancer early this morning. I watched her last two concerts, in 1999 and 2002, but didn't make it back for her final orchestral concert last month. Rather, my friend from California came back to see her performance, but said it was sad, because she could see Anita was already really sick and fading away. Well, she faded, along with Leslie Cheung earlier this year. How sad.

All you have to do is ask

Here's how to get the present you (I) want for Christmas:

I call up my older brother working in China:

Me, in a little brother tone:

Brother, I saw something I want for Christmas present, can you give it to me?

My Brother:

Mmm...okay.

Me:

Really? Are you sure?

My Brother:

Yes, I am sure.

Me:

Then I'm going to buy it tonight. Remember to transfer HK$5,000 to my account when you come back to Hong Kong, okay?

My brother:

Okay.

Me:

Promise?

My brother:

Promise.

Me, in a little brother tone:

Thank you very much! Bye-bye.

He never asked what I was getting, so I didn't bother telling him it's the Sony DSC T-1 that I wanted. It's nice to have an older brother around for Christmas, regardless of how old you are (I am). Merry Christmas!

Palm blogging

A great benefit to using Movable Type as a blogging tool is that I can finally use my Tugsten T3 to blog. The built-in Web Pro browser works nicely with MT. And with T3 in landscape mode sitting atop the Wireless Keyboard while connected to my T68i, I can blog anywhere; it truly takes moblogging to a whole other level. You ought to try it.

Here's a tip: Be sure to type your entries in Memos or Word To Go first, just in case Web Pro loses your entry when it fails to load, as it did to me just now.

Infernal Affairs 3 cheat sheet

Here are tips to watching Infernal Affairs 3. Know your characters by name; they will be talked about a lot. When you see dead people from Part 1, remember you are watching the past. With those in mind, you should enjoy the movie more than most audiences.
